Kamchatka to Anadyr Cruise

Day 1
Petropavlovsk - Kamchatsky. We embark the "Marina Tsvetaeva" in the afternoon and set sail, heading north to Cape Kozlova.
Day 2
Cape Kozlova is a breeding site for seals. We are not allowed to land close to the seals in summer, but we can use our zodiacs to get close to the beach for a first-class view. Get your camera ready - some of the braver seals might approach the boats.
We also plan to land not far from the seals to visit a scientific station from where the colony is studied. The scientists place video cameras near the breeding site for closer observation of the seals. The scientists will explain what they have been able to discover about their wards. We plan to anchor at Kamenistaya Bay where the nearby rivers are rich in birdlife and have scenic waterfalls. The abundance of salmon in these rivers attract the huge Kamchatka Brown Bears. We hope to be lucky to catch some…with our camera lenses.
Day 3
Crossing the Bering Sea. We spend the day visiting lectures and observing wildlife from the decks.
Day 4
Ossora Village, Koryak Region. At Ossora we explore the cultural wealth of the Far East peoples. The Koryaks, dressed in traditional clothes of reindeer skin, decorated with fur and refined embroidery, welcome us with a typical folk performance. In the afternoon we leave the peninsula for Karaginsky Island. Its coastal waters are favoured by whales, giving us an excellent chance to see these huge and attractive animals. We will land on the western coast of the island in Lozhnykh Vestey Bay. On the beach there are many whale bones, the legacy of hunts. We also meet Koryak whale hunters who make their way here from the mainland peninsula. The island is covered with alder trees, mountain ashes, dwarf-pines and herbs.
Day 5
We plan some landings at the following sites near Olyutorsky Bay:

- Yuzhnaya Glubokaya Bay and Cape Groznyi. These picturesque places are part of Kamchatka's natural Heritage.

- Lavrova Bay and Cape Govena, Tintikum Lagoon are the parts of the Koryaksky Nature Reserve, remarkable for its wildlife. On the southern coast of the Lagoon there are thermal springs, the water having a pungent odour emerging at +37°С.
Days
6-7
We explore numerous bays and isles of Koryak Region:

- Cape Vitgenshteina, Kekur Vitgenshteina Island, Bogoslova Island - all famous for their dramatic landscapes and are protected areas.

- The scenic Anastasia Bay is named in honor of Anastasia Gek, the daughter of the famous Kamchatka explorer Fridolf Gek. Its coasts are home to Walrus, while Kamchatka Brown Bears are also frequent visitors.

- Dezhnev Bay. Inland there is tundra, while on the beaches are colonies of Walruses. Brown Bears often hunt close to the sea.
