~10:00 - We start from your hotel in Petrozavodsk and drive to the
southeastern direction to visit old Karelian villages.
Karelians are an ethnological group of Finno-Ugrian peoples, which inhabited this area
thousands of years ago and still live there.
At a distance of 60 km from Petrozavodsk we reach the village of Man'ga, which was founded
in the middle of the 16th century. We walk up hill to observe the Chapel of the Nativity of
the Blessed Virgin, built in the 18th century and a nice view opens at the village and surroundings from the hill.
We continue our trip to the historic village of Kinerma (45 km).
In Kinerma, we get acquainted with the traditional wooden architecture of the 19th and the early
20th Centuries, visit the Chapel of our Lady of Smolensk (18th Century) and meet the local people and observe
their lifestyle.
Lunch is served in a traditional wooden house.
